I suggest you use "Player >" to send the puzzle to the player which does allow candidate editing
And if you get stuck "send to solver"
The solver will still ignore your candidates since it needs all logically present ones, not just the ones important to you. But you can step from that point to discover the strategy

In the previous version, as soon as all the cells were filled in, the number of errors would be reported.

I wanted to mention that the box that changes with the steps that explains why some choices were made does not advance to the next explanation. I had hoped that others would have mentioned this to you.
On another topic, I saved the string :
It does not matter what it actually is but I found no way to plug this in so that I could try the puzzle another time. I do see one above but that goes to you and not the main panel.

If you mean the blue results box below the solver board then yes it only updates when there is something returned to the solver. So steps that merely clear off candidates or set solved cells don’t generate text to put in that box. I guess it's a minor thing but sometimes I think its better to keep it since people may move forward but still want to refer back to the text.

Since years I loved to play str8ts nearly every day. But now the keyboard covers the riddle while writing and I had to scroll up and down all the time. And so I have no clear view. It's an Android mobile phone.
Can you help me? I would be sad If I could not solve your str8ts any more.
To anyone with similar issues - please send me a screen shot? with the keyboard showing would be great. So many devices and screens I'm mostly guessing how it looks for most people despite having my own android phone. I added a checkbox on the player "Numeric keypad". Does that help? Suspect it takes the same space

Also, until the recent changes i used to get a full keyboard to use in str8ts, which was useful for making corrections... now just get a minimal numeric keypad
When I use Android with the default keyboard the numbers are not shown, you have to SHIFT to see them
