Love the site. I just solved a puzzle that was rated 285 on your grading system. Is there a chart that shows how tough a 285 puzzle is? what is the range of the grading scale?

Thanks

Lots of gory detail on grading here

Current cut-off for grade bands (for normal Sudoku - other puzzles differ) is

Kids <= 40

Gentle <= 60

Moderate <= 80

Tough <= 150

Diabolical <= 1100

Extreme 1100+

Problems with new daily sudoku web page (iPhone)
1. Clues are right justified in cell instead of centered.
2. Far-right part of clues leak into next cell and are obscured.
3. In portrait mode the web page is not scaled to fit the screen.

Andrew Stuart writes:
Which one? The sudokuwiki.org one or the str8ts.com one? The later is still the old old version. What OS and browser are you using? Can't duplicate 1 and 2 so far

Please keep the iPhone player. I enjoy being able to the work on the daily SUDOKU when I am unexpectedly caught with wait time whenever I am away from home. This is a great mental focus exercise for me and many other seniors.

Love sudokuwiki.org - have been doing it every day since 2011.

Thank you for what you do for your followers.

I would like to thank you for all your hard work. Over the last few months I have learnt a lot from your strategies and solving techniques. I do The Daily Sudoku every morning on my IPad and I hope you will not retire that version. I prefer the large screen size compared to the IPhone screen.

Cheers . Merry Christmas.!!

I think I need to build a specifc iPad layout - if I can borrow one ; )
But thanks, yes, will keep a large ipad player as an option
Have a great Christmas day

Ok, just saw 2.08, the editing window is much better than in 2.07. But the yellow lines between the cells don't display well, black was better for sure.

Andrew Stuart writes:
If you are not seeing 1 pixel black lines between the cells please tell me what OS and browser you are using. Not correct. And an email address so i can write you back!
Cheers

Str8t comment:

Really don't like the yellow box to enter the number in a field. It totally distracts me from the puzzle because it only goes away after i click on an other field where it then reappears etc etc, unless i click somewhere in an inert spot on the webpage.
It is really not an improvement.
Hope it can be fixed.
Happy Holidays and Cheers,
Willem

Had similar reports. However, the box is identical to what was there before in terms of opening a cell in edit mode and exiting it.
(apart from a but prior to v2.07? Enter will now close the box - as will any defocus)
What I am trying to avoid is the rows and columns moving when in mobile/small screen mode.
I will probably make it smaller

The new arrangement of the nubmers inside a cell is a great step forward. The new yellow pop-up to type in the numbers: it would be great if it is not bigger then the cell itself and would overlay only the cell. Because right now it is a little bit "nervous" because the pop-up does not appear always at the same place, so the eyes have to jump. But mainly the yellow pop-up overlays the cells around and that is not comfortable.

Thanks for your hard work!

Your latest changes seem to pick up the PC's date, so, trying to get the Printable Version, I get an error message about future dates. Australia is 9 to 10 hours ahead of Europe; 14 or more ahead of USA

Andrew Stuart writes:
Okay that's an interesting one.
I don't believe I'm sending the client date/time. Should all be server time which is UK plus a -5 adjustment to make it EST. However I might not have -5 in every instance

Which print page is an good example?

First of all: Thanks for the progress in devekopment .

My Environment:
a. Win 10m 21H2,Build 19044-2364
b. Chrome Version 108.0.5359.125 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)

Observations:
1. "Carriage Return" does not finish entry of a cell.
--> workaround: Click in another cell
2. After filling of a cell it is not possible to click in that same cell immediately afterwards (e. g. to correct a false entry)
--> workaround: Click in another cell and afterwards in the former cell
3. It is not possivle to empty a cell by clicking "back tab". Doing so, the former entry will re-appear.
--> workaround: enter a single "0" into the cell will delete the entry

Regards M.
